Obedience
Obedience Isn’t a Test—It’s Our Path to Goodness
Too often we treat obedience like a game or a test—if we get the right answer, we win rewards. But God’s “tests” aren’t traps; they’re invitations. He knows the way forward, and when we follow His guidance, we walk the path that leads to true blessing.
Imagine I warn you about a corner teeming with snakes. If you ignore my advice and get bitten, it’s not because I commanded the snakes to strike—you simply chose to go where danger lurked. In the same way, God’s instruction always points us toward safety and abundance.
The beauty of obedience is that it’s not about earning favor—though He delights in rewarding faithfulness—it’s about choosing the good path He’s already laid out. Because He is a good Father, the desires of His heart are always for our benefit.
Yet this trust—and the willingness to obey—depends on how well we know Him. Revelation of God’s character isn’t a secret; it’s available to anyone who intentionally seeks Him. As we spend time in His presence, our understanding deepens. We see His goodness, experience His faithfulness, and naturally gravitate toward the paths He lights.
At its core, obedience is an expression of faith—and faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). When we trust Him, we honor His voice. And as we honor Him, He in turn guides us into a life that reflects His nature—one marked by peace, purpose, and joy.
So today, lean into the truth that obedience is for your good. Seek to know God more deeply, listen for His gentle leadings, and then take the step—confident that the path He’s on is always the best one.
Lots of love,
